When we have been brought to the beginning of this stage, there is a profound hope and reliance on God, yet we are still learning how to experience his personal love for us in daily life.

This is when we begin to recognize the beauty and humanity of Jesus Christ and his Body enfleshed in the people who surround us—in our spouses, families, friends, colleagues and strangers.

Now we want to get closer to his Presence in them. The saints call this the “illuminative stage” or “mystical espousal.” Are you ready to dance?
